10 Dem Incumbents or Challengers Worth Giving That $3, $5, or $10 To…
If you have signed up to support any candidate since the early 00s, you have gotten a fundraising email or two thousand…so I decided to write a quick list of 10 of them that are worth giving to in this political climate.
Disclaimer - This post was written without coordination with any of the candidates mentioned or their campaigns.
1 - Mikie Sherrill (NJ Gubernatorial Candidate)
I now accept that I am a New Jerseyan which is hard as someone who grew up a Delawarean (the Full Service at the gas pump helped…). And in less than 7 days the votes will be tallied in another NJ Gubernatorial race. My reasons for why you should consider giving $3, $5, or $10 to help send Rep. Sherrill to Trenton have nothing to do with the lines that you see in the political ads (anyone in the NYC and Philly Media Markets know what I mean).
My reason is simple - helping Sherrill get elected means that we will have a governor that we can lobby (not in the DC sense but in the constituent sense) about our issues and concerns and actually be heard and considered. And my main reason reminds me of a second - with the disruption to the checks and balances system in D.C. having a Democrat in this position would act as a check on Washington.

2 - Alonna Berry (Delaware State House - RD-20)
This democrat recently won a special election to fill a Delaware State House seat in Sussex County. The top issues that she ran on were quality education, public safety, smart growth, affordable housing, and clean energy. State Representative Berry is also a former teacher and as a former teacher myself I know that teachers get things done so your investment would be in good hands.

3 - LaMonica McIver (US House - NJ-10)
Rep. McIver is one of the few politicians I donate to. I have enjoyed watching her “jump right in” to being a US Congresswoman here in my home state of NJ. Furthermore, she is one of the targets of the Trump Regime due to her pushback against his ICE population “purification” agenda.
4 - Leticia James (New York Attorney General)
If you follow me on social media this selection should not come as a surprise. I recently participated in a push to highlight the dangers of the Trump Regime’s Retribution Tour which has Attorney General James as one of it’s first stops. As someone who grew up on the East Coast, it was refreshing to watch the Attorney General hold him accountable to the some of the scamming he has done to build his name and brand. A donation to AG James today would help her fight those efforts as well as any future political plans she may have.

5 - Jasmine Crockett (US House - TX-30)
While I’lI admit that I don’t love the phrase she launched at one of her colleagues but I do love her authenticity. I also love her fighting spirit a spirit she had when many in the party did not. Rep. Crockett has a promising future in the Democratic Party and raising lots of money can help her obtain that future.

6 - Your Favorite Candidate Running in Your Town or County
Because all politics is local and these candidates probably need your $3, $5, or $7 more than anyone (especially incumbents) running for office. Do a search with their name and the position they are running for & donate away!
7 - Abigail Spanberger (VA Gubernatorial Candidate)
Both this race and the one in NJ are what they call bellwether races i.e., they give a sense of how the recently elected president is doing so far in their term. While this “president” is stretching the definition of the term president, supporting this candidate in the final days will help send a strong message. A message that the American (US) people are not idly standing by as all they were taught that their country stood for is demolished like the East Wing. Additionally, this race highlights the phrase that I've seen a lot around the internet recently, "not all skin folk are kin folk."

8 - Kenyatta Stewart (NJ State Assembly LD-35)
Stewart beat the odds and won the primary in this district. A seat vacated by a retirement. Additionally, he is a local candidate that I feel reflects the future of the Democratic Party. So let’s send some money his way in the final days of this election cycle! Your support here would help show NJ party leaders that he is new face to pay attention to in NJ electoral politics.

9 - Rep. Al Green (US House - TX-9)
He is the only non woman political candidate I have given to because he was not afraid to stand up to Trump during the Joint Session in January. Maybe a Democratic party led by some of the folks on this list would have had more congresspeople walk out with Rep. Green when he kicked out the Joint Session.
10 - Rep. Lateefah Simon (US House - CA-12)
I enjoyed what I have heard from her story and feel like some of her work has been "lost in the sauce," i.e., lost in the constant bombardment of panic coming from the Trump Regime. However, this veteran organizer with a Kamala Harris connection and a DNC Speech under her belt is another mom of young kids currently serving; one of my favorite recent political trends!
